But such concepts are sometimes bigger than their britches, so it\u2019s not a bad thing that this verse figures liturgically in contexts adopted by a young and innocent generation. The first phrase of this verse appears in <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anim Z\u2019mirot<\/span><\/em><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a poem chock-full of challenging images of divine glory that is often sung in synagogue by youngsters just getting comfortable with their Hebrew reading. The verse in its entirety is found in Rosh Hashana\u2019s shofar service. The shofar\u2019s blast, of course, is a sober call to repentance, but it\u2019s blowing is a time when parents and grandparents often hold their children high so that they can look, listen, and squeal with delight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perhaps this verse is an invitation to us to remember, as we imagine ourselves resolving deep theological questions, that our thinking likely isn\u2019t as mature and well-developed as we might believe it to be.<\/span><\/p>\n","image":false,"embedded_video":"","video_duration":"","show_fb_comments":true,"credit_media":""},"tile":{"top_caption":"\u05e8","main_caption":"Theology For Children","main_caption_size":"1","sub_caption":"160.
