With what? And why?<br \/>\nWho cares the reason? I am told<br \/>\nthey should be whole, and they are not,<br \/>\nso they have earned the hate I feel.<\/p>\n<p>My heart, instead, is one, I guess,<br \/>\nso I can split a line in two,<br \/>\ndividing what I love from hate,<br \/>\nremembering that I love You most<br \/>\nand hating those who don\u2019t observe.<br \/>\nI place my head inside a book <br \/>\nto live my love through holy text.<br \/>\nI read your words and nurse my hate,<br \/>\ntheir broken hearts a sign that I<br \/>\nam better than divided men<br \/>\nand capable of judging them.<\/p>\n<p>I love your teaching, which, I know,<br \/>\ninstructs me to dismiss my hate,<br \/>\nso I\u2019m confused by how to feel:<br \/>\nTo love your teaching while I hate?<br \/>\nOr hate your creatures while I love?<br \/>\nWhat does it mean to feel both things &#8212;<br \/>\nThis hate and love on balanced halves?<br \/>\nIt feels like my divided heart.<br \/>\nI hate myself.
