Then it became my responsibility to understand them as best I could and teach them to others, on behalf of those who could no longer give them voice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So for me the tastiest word here is \u05e0\u05bc\u05b4\u05de\u05b0\u05dc\u05b0\u05e6\u05d5\u05bc (\u201cpleasing\u201d) which occurs nowhere else in the Bible: a <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hapax legomenon<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I wish I could ask the psalmist why s\/he chose it \u2026 Other English translations use \u201csweet\u201d in both halves of the verse, but our author must have had something more particular in mind.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arabic uses this root to mean \u201cslip\u201d or \u201cslide,\u201d so we might say the verse means, \u201cLord, your word sure goes down easy.\u201d\u00a0 I will certainly be coming back tomorrow for another helping.<\/span><\/p>\n","image":false,"embedded_video":"","video_duration":"","show_fb_comments":true,"credit_media":""},"tile":{"top_caption":"\u05de","main_caption":"Sweet!","main_caption_size":"1","sub_caption":"103.
