The words \u201cI went astray\u201d are a parenthetical comment. Meaning: Before my enemies made me suffer, and even now, after my enemies have tortured me, I keep Your word. David&#8217;s intention was to say: \u201cI keep Your word\u201d immediately after \u201cBefore I was made to suffer,\u201d but he then remembered that he cannot truthfully make this claim, because of his sin with Bathsheba, and &#8220;he who speaks untruth shall not stand.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This led him to immediately offer an apology and say: \u201cI went astray,\u201d arguing that that sin was not performed as an act of rebellion, rather it was a moment of weakness when he was overcome by his evil inclination, as he said earlier: \u201cIndeed You desire truth about that which is hidden; teach me wisdom about secret things\u201d (Ps 51:8).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","image":false,"embedded_video":"","video_duration":"","show_fb_comments":true,"credit_media":""},"tile":{"top_caption":"\u05d8","main_caption":"I Keep Your Word","main_caption_size":"1","sub_caption":"67.
