There\u2019s no way things can come out even under this system. This is as rank as injustice is ever likely to get\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whether we are being kept awake by financial woes or family tribulations or imagined conversations we just wish we\u2019d had &#8211; or hadn\u2019t &#8211; the middle of the night is the time when everything veers completely out of proportion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And that is the genius of this verse.\u00a0 The phrase <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mishpat tzedek<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has special weight in Hebrew. It\u2019s a hendiadys for structure and pattern and &#8211; yes &#8211; proportion.\u00a0 Next time we are sleepless, with our ragged thoughts playing us like David\u2019s harp (BT <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Berachot<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 3b), perhaps we can summon this verse to remind ourselves that outside of our own heads, from the perspective of the Holy One, the world does still make sense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good night: sleep well.<\/span><\/p>\n","image":false,"embedded_video":"","video_duration":"","show_fb_comments":true,"credit_media":""},"tile":{"top_caption":"\u05d7","main_caption":"Sleep Well","main_caption_size":"1","sub_caption":"62.
