The relationship between these clauses remains vague. The verse can be suggesting either that I can only praise God in earnest when I appreciate the righteousness of his laws, or that I can only fully appreciate the righteousness of God&#8217;s laws when I am honestly thankful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assuming that thankfulness corresponds to human needs and the righteousness of laws refers to the promotion of justice, I think that both clauses can be read in apposition to each other: on the one hand, our understanding that our needs are met is at its fullest when we recognize God&#8217;s purpose for the world, brought about by God\u2019s law. On the other hand, a full understanding of that law cannot be appreciated outside of the way that law corresponds to human needs. In this way, the law is what mediates between human needs and God&#8217;s purpose for the world.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our recognition of the former being met is enriched when seen in the context of that which enables the implementation of the latter, and that process is in turn only understood when we recognize how the law corresponds to humanity&#8217;s deepest needs.<\/span><\/p>\n","image":false,"embedded_video":"","video_duration":"","show_fb_comments":true,"credit_media":""},"tile":{"top_caption":"\u05d0","main_caption":"Righteousness And Thankfulness","main_caption_size":"1","sub_caption":"7.
