In forests, fields and jungles cloaked with green,
\nWe wade in life\u2019s splendor; but all our lives,
\nWe ask, “The truth of the Lord, what does it mean?”<\/p>\n

Is all this verdant beauty just a screen
\nThat masks our graves? What significance survives
\nIn forests, fields and jungles cloaked with green?<\/p>\n

As life blossoms \u2014 exquisite, death mocks \u2014 obscene;
\nAs death hews down all with axes and knives,
\nWe ask, “The truth of the Lord, what does it mean?”<\/p>\n

Is the world pollinated by death\u2019s queen,
\nWho stings and makes bitter honey in her hives,
\nIn forests, fields and jungles cloaked with green?<\/p>\n

Why must our flowers’ velvet fade, the sheen
\nOf blossoms dim, whenever death arrives?
\nWe ask, “The truth of the Lord, what does it mean?”<\/p>\n

Where is God\u2019s truth, majestic and serene?
\nUnder seas of leaves and grass, it swims and dives.
\nIn forests, fields and jungles cloaked with green,
