But what sort<\/em>? Which approach to dealing with idolatry is our psalm more similar to: that of Isaiah 2 (see esp. Verses 8 and 22)? Or that of Isaiah 44 (such as verse 15)?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Social stratification?<\/em>\u00a0The call to trust in God, and also the following blessing (9-13), are given to three groups, that have names: \u201cthe house of Israel,\u201d \u201cthe house of Aaron,\u201d and \u201cthose who fear God\u201d (likewise in Pss. 118 and 135). Why are there different groups, and what differentiates them? The house of Aaron is apparently the priests. But who are \u201cthose who fear God,\u201d and what defines them as such? Is that their self-definition? Is that how society sees them? Are they part of Israel? Or are they a different group of \u201cbelievers\u201d? What can these groupings teach us about the social reality of the time in which this was written?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","image":{"ID":86314,"id":86314,"title":"Points to
