This revolutionary idea references two actual instances of God lifting up a presumably weak person to great heights: Saul and David. When Samuel went to anoint Saul, Saul famously protested that he was from the smallest family in the youngest tribe (I Samuel 9:21). From these humble beginnings, God lifted him up to be the first King of Israel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly David was the youngest member of his family and was merely a shepherd tending flocks. Samuel was even surprised within David&#8217;s family that the youngest son was chosen to lead.
