  1. Who\u2019s the king in the psalm?<\/em> David of course is the most natural candidate. He was the founder of the chosen dynasty, with whom God made a covenant and was promised eternal kingship. But – there are commentators who connected the psalm to Shim\u2019on \/ Simeon, of the house of Yannai. Why? It could be claimed that there is a hidden acrostic in the first verses: “<\/span>\u05e9\u05c1\u05b5<\/strong>\u05d1 \u05dc\u05b4\u05d9\u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9… <\/span>\u05de\u05b7<\/strong>\u05d8\u05bc\u05b5\u05d4-\u05e2\u05bb\u05d6\u05bc\u05b0\u05da\u05b8-…<\/span>\u05e2\u05b7<\/strong>\u05de\u05bc\u05b0\u05da\u05b8 \u05e0\u05b0\u05d3\u05b8\u05d1\u05b9\u05ea…\u00a0 <\/span>\u05e0\u05b4<\/strong>\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05d1\u05bc\u05b7\u05e2 \u05d4’<\/span>“.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Hard right<\/em>. In verse 1, the God says to the king \u201cSit at My right hand,\u201d and in verse 5 he is told, \u201cThe Lord is at your right hand.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Dewy youth<\/em>. Verse 3 is a little hard to understand, but the image is very suggestive. It\u2019s translated here: \u201cIn majestic holiness, from the womb, from the dawn, yours was the dew of youth.\u201d The dawn is like a womb, giving birth to the dew.
