  1. A plaguely comparison<\/em>. It\u2019s fascinating to compare the story of the plagues as they are told in Exodus (chs. 7-11) to Psalm 78 and to today\u2019s psalm. How many are there? What order? Which ones garner the most attention? Why? What do you make of the differences?<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. It\u2019s all from above<\/em>. Good and evil, miracles and human acts, behind everything in this psalm is a single driving force – God. And most of it is good, and all is for the best.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Lenses of lovingkindness<\/em>. National history is told in this psalm from the point of view of the grace and lovingkindness that God has shown His people throughout the ages. Not a word about sin and misbehavior (selling Joseph?) or about national rebellions, and their incessant complaining in the desert. Whoever has read the relevant chapters in the Torah, or Psalm 78, knows that the same history can be retold slightly (or greatly) otherwise.
