The answer could come from the first verse, &#8220;A prayer of the poor man when he is faint and pours forth his plea before the LORD.&#8221; This psalm is written about a poor person &#8220;who is faint.&#8221;\u00a0 The poor person here is faint from having little food to eat. As someone who has limited funds, they most likely need to forage for fuel to cook. Grass is the easiest resource to find. When grass burns though, it&#8217;s extremely smoky and burns quickly. Perhaps this is why these two words are used most often in this psalm.
