  1. Three holies<\/em>. Three times the adjective \u201choly\u201d (<\/span>kadosh<\/span><\/i>) is mentioned in this psalm. They suggest a continuum of three circles of holiness: from the admission of the nations of God\u2019s greatness, to the closeness to God in the Temple, all the way to the innermost circle of prayer and direct communication.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The troika<\/em>. Moses and Aaron were the leaders during the desert period, and Samuel, the prophet and judge on the eve of the establishment of the monarchy, all appear in verse 6 as having a special connection to God and with a special efficacy to their prayer. Likewise, 251 chapters ago, in the prophecy of Jeremiah they were mentioned in a similar context, in order to emphasize that even a prayer from them wouldn\u2019t prevent the destruction: \u201cThe LORD said to me, \u2018Even if Moses and Samuel were to intercede with Me, I would not be won over to that people. Dismiss them from My presence and let them go forth!\u2019\u201d (Jer. 15:1).<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Desert memories<\/em>. Moses and Aaron, the pillar of cloud, the giving of laws (and of punishments) – you might remember these elements from the books of Exodus and Numbers.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Almost done<\/em>\u2026 According to the Ashkenazi rite, this is the last psalm in the series of psalms of Kabbalat Shabbat, which began with Ps. 95. According to the Sepharadim, tomorrow\u2019s psalm, Ps. 100, is also included.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","image":{"ID":86314,"id":86314,"title":"Points to
