The penultimate verse of the Torah describes him as the greatest prophet of all time.<\/p>\n<p><em>When and Why:<\/em><br \/>\nMoses wrote this psalm to encourage the people of Israel while in the Babylonian exile to maintain their devotion to God. Their faithfulness will cause the redemption and return to the Land of Israel.<\/p>\n<p><em>Genre: <\/em><br \/>\nPsalm of Enthronement&#8211;This psalm extols God\u2019s royal role in the universe.<br \/>\nPsalm of Praise&#8211;This is a psalm of celebration, often the result of a victory. It declares God\u2019s goodness and urges all of creation to worship.<\/p>\n<p><em>Chapter Summary:<\/em><br \/>\nMoses, once again through beautiful imagery, depicts how the earth and the heavens will rejoice when God will reign supreme. The singer then admonishes even those adhering to the Torah, that they should despise evil and wickedness.<\/p>\n<p>This psalm consists of twelve verses, subdivided into three parts.<br \/>\nIn verses 1-6, the psalmist speaks of the revelation of the glory of God\u2019s kingdom.<br \/>\nIn verses 7-9, he addresses the humiliation suffered by idol-worshippers and the joy of those who worship God.<br \/>\nIn verses 10-12, he implores the righteous to hate evil, and assures them of God\u2019s promised salvation in return.
