  1. A new song<\/em>. One can innovate – and one should: \u201cSing to the LORD a new song\u201d (verse 1).<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The ripple effect<\/em>. The psalm describes a sort of expanding consciousness – from the believers, to the families of nations and from their to all humanity and to the entire universe.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The verbs tell all<\/em>. The first sections of the psalm are full of imperative verbs that draw us in to the rhythm of activity that the psalm puts forth: \u201cSing\u2026 sing\u2026 sing\u2026 bless\u2026 proclaim.. Tell.. ascribe\u2026 ascribe\u2026. Ascribe\u2026 bring tribute…enter…bow down\u2026 tremble\u2026 declare among the nations!<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. 5 shades of ecstasy<\/em>. \u201cLet the heavens <\/span>rejoice<\/strong> and the earth <\/span>exult<\/strong>; let the sea and all within it <\/span>thunder<\/strong>, the fields and everything in them <\/span>exult<\/strong>; then shall all the trees of the forest <\/span>shout for joy<\/strong>\u201d (verses 11-12)<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. The royalty of the Sabbath Queen<\/em>. Yesterday (Ps 95) there began a series of psalms of God\u2019s royalty, that have entered the prayer book as the introduction to the Kabbalat Shabbat service. Until Ps 99 (Ashkenazi), or Ps 100 (Sephardi).
