  1. Strong words<\/em>. Here they are: \u201cGrandeur\u2026 strength …firm …from of old … The ocean \u2026 thunder \u2026. Pounding \u2026 mighty \u2026 majestic \u2026 on high\u2026. Enduring … for all times\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Listen to the sounds<\/em>. Verses 3-4 tell of the mighty sounds of the waters (<\/span>give a listen here<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. \u201cThe thunder of the mighty waters.\u201d<\/em> From the whole world of nature, the psalm focuses on water, which is a major force both for life but also wreaking havoc (storms, floods, tsunamis, etc.). In all the surrounding cultures, there were tales of the epic conflict between waters that threatened to destroy, and God the creator. In this psalm the foundations of the world are very stable \u201cThe world stands firm; it cannot be shaken,\u201d and so the waters – \u201cthe thunder of the mighty waters,\u201d\u00a0 – present no
