“Your throne is established of old; You are from everlasting. The seas have lifted up, O Lord, the seas have lifted up their voice, the seas lift up their roaring. Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea, mighty on high is the Lord.” (Psalm 93:2-4)<\/p>\n

How long can ships withstand an ocean’s waves,
\nStrong tempest winds or violent typhoon rains?
\nMy boat is being tossed and pulled, yet strains
\nTo stay intact; behold, the sea behaves
\nAs if it wants our blood, as if it craves
\nOur death. But still my fragile craft remains
\nAfloat, defying all the hurricanes
\nThat sent vast fleets to underwater graves.<\/p>\n

These storms have helped me understand \u2014 the wood
\nWhich built my boat was taken from the tree
\nThat housed the Faith-bird’s nest before she soared
\nAbove the sky \u2014 the wood the princess could
\nHave used for building castles by the sea \u2014
\nThe very wood which builds Your throne, O Lord.<\/p>\n
