There\u2019s nothing here
\nThat\u2019s not your fault, and nothing
\nI can\u2019t forgive, no injustice, no torment,<\/p>\n

No shuddering glimpse
\nOf meaninglessness, not even the fact

That can\u2019t refuse your advances

Unpronounceable vowel, the flux of
\nbeing–<\/p>\n

Do you know how much it hurts?–
\nWriting your name over and over,<\/p>\n

A lesson I will never complete

\nTo sound out your syllables in the
\ndark,<\/p>\n

A dirty trick, really,
\nThat you created me to forgive
\nYou as involuntarily<\/p>\n

As my heart pumps blood
\nThrough veins that are the branches
\nOf the tree of life you planted<\/p>\n

In my decomposing flesh
\nWhile you cheat, abandon, bury
\nyour face
\nIn eternity\u2019s ample cleavage,<\/p>\n

And only now,
\nWhen I\u2019ve given you up,
\nFill my arms again.<\/p>\n

\nPsalm 89 verse 48 reads: \u201cWhy did You create all men in vain\u201d. It calls out God asking about the pointlessness of creating people, that there is a flaw inherent in the creation of humanity. This psalm, too, questions the way the author was created, the fact that the psalmist will always forgive their creator no matter how badly they are treated.<\/em><\/p>\n
