  1. Double – header.<\/em> The psalm is attributed both to Bnei Korach (the Korahites) and to Heman the Ezrahite. Might be be one of the Korahites? Or are the Korahites the performers and Heman the Ezrahite was the composer? And what does \u201con ma\u1e25alath leannoth\u201d mean? Is that directions for performance? Or is that an instruction that the psalm is a prayer for illness (<\/span>mahalah<\/span><\/em>)? All are possible.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Between life and death<\/em>. The psalm presents us with the images that the psalmist has of death and the world of the dead, and in particular – what they are lacking. Death is \u201cthe bottom of the Pit, in the darkest places, in the depths.\u201d Those who are dead are forgotten by God. The dead is \u201c a helpless man,\u201d powerless, without even a prayer connection to God.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Dead end<\/em>. The psalm begins and ends in distress – it doesn\u2019t end on a hopeful or thankful note.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","image":{"ID":86314,"id":86314,"title":"Points to
