Psalm 73:<\/p>\n

Author:<\/em>
\nAsaf–a composer of several psalms and a patriarch of a family of singers in the Beit HaMikdash (Temple).<\/p>\n

Genre:<\/em>
\nPsalm of Wisdom–This psalm contains teachings and wise advice and is meant to instruct people on how to live a Godly life.<\/p>\n

Chapter Summary:<\/em>
\nIn this chapter, Asaf addresses one of life\u2019s most difficult questions: Why do the righteous suffer and the wicked live well? He allegorically explains that though it seems as if the wicked are prospering, they in fact grow only as grass, and thus are easily destroyed.<\/p>\n

This psalm consists of twenty-eight verses, subdivided into two parts. The first verse serves as a heading.
\nIn verses 2-16, the psalmist describes the confusion of the God-fearing man, troubled by the prosperity of the wicked and suffering of the righteous.
\nIn verses 17-28, he explains that the success of the wicked is but an illusion; all who stray from God will perish, while the righteous will indeed benefit from their closeness to God.<\/p>\n

Shimsuh Tehillim–When to Say:<\/em>
\nTo prevent a person from converting from Judaism (recite 7 times daily)–Verse 2 and 28 state: \u201cBut as for me, my feet had almost turned away.\u201d \u201cBut as for me, God\u2019s nearness is my good.\u201d<\/p>\n
