  1. Why Solomon?<\/em> The psalm\u2019s heading connects it to Solomon. If you remember Solomon from the Book of Kings, you can find at least two connections or parallels. Solomon was a king-judge, with almost supernatural powers, when his wish \u201cGrant, then, Your servant an understanding mind to judge Your people, to distinguish between good and bad\u201d (I Kings 3:9) was granted by God. Likewise, according to I Kings, Solomon ruled over a vast empire, and enjoyed great wealth and honor.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Supernatural<\/em>. There are some supernatural claims in this psalm. For instance, \u201cLet them fear You as long as the sun shines, while the moon lasts, generations on end\u201d (verse 5). Are these just extravagant metaphors, or are they hints that the king under discussion is not a historical personage, but rather the future messiah? Both interpretations are possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
