In fact, it is almost identical to the last five verses of Psalm 40. We have seen, almost halfway through Psalms, that King David often repeats phrases, verses, and metaphors. But this is unique that an entire chapter appears within a previous Psalm. Perhaps chapter 40 was an accidental amalgamation of chapter 40 and chapter 70. Maybe chapter 70 was a missing draft of a verse intended to be included in 40. Or perhaps David loved this poetic structure so much that he returned to these verses and elevated them to their own
