This one concerns agents of King Saul who wait in hiding to attack David at night. David compares these mercenaries to dogs that circle the city at night looking for prey. The psalm repeats this description twice, in verses 7 and 15, in identical language: &#8220;They return towards the evening, they howl like they do, and go round about the city.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While we have seen repeated phrases and words before, we have rarely seen a completely repeated verse. Interestingly, this verse is also not repeated immediately. Instead the verse appears after seven verses, and then repeats after another seven. David is poetically emphasizing the metaphor of the dogs circling the city. It takes them seven verses to appear, and then seven verses later they circle back and appear yet again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","image":{"ID":84503,"id":84503,"title":"ps59-wild
