Jenny lives in a ramshackle house and has an abusive father. The two friends are playing in the field when her angry father comes looking for her. Frightened for her life, Jenny takes forrest and they run to a field outside her house. The two hide in the field and they begin to pray &#8220;Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far far away&#8221;.\u00a0 Where does Jenny get this prayer from? It&#8217;s from our Psalm 55.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Late in his life, King David is forced to escape Jerusalem from the attempted coup of his son Absalom. During his flight from the capital, he composes this psalm. In verse seven he cries out &#8220;oh that I had wings like a dove, I would fly away and be at rest.&#8221; David also dreams of escaping the coming doom that befalls him by transforming himself to the symbol of peace following the flood and flying far far away. It makes sense that the writers of Forrest Gump would borrow this stark yet beautiful
