I fear the nights are growing cold; I fear
\nThe days are growing short; I fear the fact
\nThe winter is already coughing, racked
\nBy sleet that will not stop, and hoar-frost air.
\nI fear the lake is frozen, Lord, yet dare
\nNot walk across for fear the ice is cracked
\nBy unadmitted fears that I might act
\nAs if I do not fear Your name, nor care.<\/p>\n

Although my fears are everywhere; although
\nI fear my frigid deeds disgrace the prayers
\nI say; although I fear I stand as poor
