  1. Justice now<\/em>! The psalmist prays for divine intervention against his enemies, to wreak justice: \u201cVindicate me, O God, champion my cause against faithless people\u201d (verse 1).<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Light and truth<\/em>. \u201cSend forth Your light and Your truth\u201d (verse 3). Light, to end the darkness: \u201cWhy must I walk in gloom, oppressed by the enemy?\u201d (verse 2); and truth, an answer to \u201cthe treacherous, dishonest man\u201d (verse 1).<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. A musical altar<\/em>. The psalmist seeks to come to \u201cthe altar of God,\u201d but he is not going to sacrifice there but hopes to \u201cthat I may come to the altar of God, God, my delight, my joy; that I may praise You with the lyre, O God, my God\u201d (verse 4).<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. An ancient riddle<\/em>. It seems that psalms 42-43 began as one psalm, but already in ancient times were divided into two. Why? Good question. Perhaps the last verse of the psalm (now psalm 43) had a separate use in prayer, that we are no longer aware of.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","image":{"ID":53645,"id":53645,"title":"general-qs-points to
