  1. For the leader…of the Korahites<\/em>. There are two collections of psalms in the book of Psalms that are attributed to the Korahites (\u201cthe sons of Korah\u201d): psalms 42-49, and psalms 84, 85, 87, 88. The Korahites are listed in the Book of Chronicles as Levites who sang in the Temple. What was their role in this psalm? Did they compose the words? The music? Or were they the ones who used to sing it? All the answers are possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Tears for breakfast<\/em>. And for dinner: \u201cMy tears have been my food day and night\u201d (verse 4).<\/span><\/li>\n

On the contrary – all around him scorn and taunt him as they reject the object of his longing: \u201cWhere is your God?\u201d (verses 4 and 11). Perhaps that is why the recurrent refrain is one of self-encouragement.<\/span><\/li>\n

In its presence and absence, real and symbolic. \u201cLike a hind crying for water…my soul thirsts for God…My tears have been my food…I pour out my soul\u2026 in this land of Jordan…where deep calls
