“My thoughts waxed hot within me; as I was musing, a fire was kindled \u2026” (Psalm 39:4)<\/p>\n

Inside an ordered, tidy mind, a fire
\nMay somehow unexpectedly ignite;
\nIts heat will burn a thousand files, its light
\nWill blind a thousand eyes. Should you inquire
\nAs to its source \u2014 some people guess a wire
\nEmbedded in the insulation might
\nBe sabotaged by arsonists in flight,
\nFlame by flame. Such is the fire of desire.<\/p>\n

Such is the fire of faith, enkindled by
\nAn undetected spark or two inside
\nAn unsuspecting mind. For faith defies
\nThe certitude of doubt, as we defy
\nThe certitude of death; and though defied
\nBy death and doubt, the phoenix, faith, will
