However, the psalmist has provided vivid imagery, different poetic structure, and word choice to make each one unique.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Psalm 38 continues that trend. Once again, the psalm discusses an individual&#8217;s prayer to God and a cry for help against their enemies. But this time, King David uses singular possessive words. In the Hebrew text the structure &#8220;X me&#8221; appears throughout the Psalm. &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tochichayni&#8230;. Tiyasraini\u2026 bivsari\u2026 batzmi\u2026 chatati..&#8221; <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">etc &#8211; \u201cPunish me\u2026 chastise me\u2026 my flesh.. My bones&#8230;my sin\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In English we see the constant references to \u201cme, my, mine.\u201d\u00a0 This psalm is very personal. The individual is pointing to themselves in their plea to God. Look at me, look at my sins, look at my pleading, look at my pain. This all culminates in the final verse: \u201cHasten to help me, my Lord, my deliverance.&#8221; Just as the pain and the prayers are all mine, so too, God is mine as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","image":{"ID":82740,"id":82740,"title":"ps38-me me
