Psalm 31 turns again to the metaphor of God&#8217;s hidden face. Verses 20 and 21 proclaim:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;How abundant is your goodness which you have hidden as a treasure for those who fear you which you have made for those who take refuge in You in the presence of the sons of man. Conceal them in the cover of your presence (<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tastirem b&#8217;seter panecha<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), from bands of weakness, hide them as a treasure in your shelter.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Psalm 30, the hidden face &#8220;<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hester panim<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; was seen as something negative. God turned his face away from the psalmist and that left him feeling alone and afraid. Now, Psalm 31 uses the same words, but this time, God is not hiding his face. Instead, the psalmist asks God to hide, i.e. protect, those who trust in him with his hidden face. The image of God&#8217;s hidden face is not a punishment, but rather God hiding his face because it is so special. It is hidden in a special place that should also be used to hide those who trust in God.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","image":{"ID":82021,"id":82021,"title":"ps30-hidden
