  1. The pendulum of life<\/em>. From the danger of death, to life. From mourning and lament to joy and dance.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The pendulum of existential consciousness.<\/em> From self-confidence, such as \u201cThis could never happen to me\u201d and \u201cI shall live forever\u201d to an awareness of fragility and dependence, \u201ceverything could change in a fraction of a second.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The pendulum of time<\/em>. Backwards and forwards. The psalm begins like a movie that\u2019s being shown in reverse. The first scene is the scene of rescue and relief, and the insight that comes in its wake. Then we travel back to the previous (erroneous) understanding, the distress, and the prayer for help. Then the movie speeds ahead to the joy of salvation and the prayer of thanksgiving.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. What\u2019s the connection to the heading<\/em>? The psalm\u2019s heading, \u201cA psalm of David. A song for the dedication of the House\u201d is doubly challenging. Which house is it referring to, and what is the connection of the content of the psalm to the title? Commentators and scholars have proposed different answers.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Every day of the year +8<\/em>. For many Jewish communities, this is the psalm that opens the daily prayers. And because of the heading (\u201cthe dedication of the House\u201d chanukkat ha-bayit<\/em>) – it is also the <\/span>\u201cdaily psalm\u201d<\/span><\/a> during
