David calls out to the great warriors of the world to pay heed to God&#8217;s mastery of the world. Verse 3 proclaims God&#8217;s mastery over the waters and the sky. Verse 5 proclaims God&#8217;s mastery over the trees and mountains. Verse 6 proclaims God&#8217;s mastery over the land, and verse 9 over the animals. The order of these verses references the order of creation in Genesis. It is there, after God creates man, that He commands man to \u201clord over\u201d the land and subdue it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But in this Psalm, David shifts gears. God is almighty and powerful, but for the people of Israel David does not wish a lifetime of war and struggle. Instead, David ends Psalm 29 with a wish that &#8220;God will give strength to his people, God will bless his people with peace.&#8221;\u00a0 While his nation should be strong and powerful, their ultimate goal is
