“One thing have I asked of the Lord, have I requested: to dwell in the House of the Lord all the days of my life\u2026” (Psalm 27:4)<\/span><\/p>\n

Better men than I deserve a table in <\/span>
\n<\/span>Your sacred House, where scribes can sit and write<\/span>
\n<\/span>The letters of Your name each day, each night.<\/span>
\n<\/span>I know my flaws are many, and each sin<\/span>
\n<\/span>That I commit has left a stain within<\/span>
\n<\/span>My soul\u2014a grayish, blackened smear no white<\/span>
\n<\/span>Removes, no bleach will clean; I have no right<\/span>
\n<\/span>To enter rooms where holiness has been.<\/span><\/p>\n

But listen to my plea, and turn to me,<\/span>
\n<\/span>Unworthy as I am, I ask, please turn<\/span>
\n<\/span>And let me dwell inside the Temple halls.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Please turn to me, and listen to my plea,<\/span>
\n<\/span>Allow me now to write Your name, and earn<\/span>
\n<\/span>My living as a scribe within Your
