  1. There are kings, and then there are kings<\/em>. Many commentators see in our chapter an example of a \u201cpsalm of the king,\u201d whose subject is a human king, and which is said as a prayer for the king\u2019s success and in praise of him. Note that in this psalm the human king is called \u201cHis anointed,\u201d and that \u201cthe king\u201d that will \u201canswer us when we call\u201d is none other than God Himself.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. There is an answer!<\/em> At the outset, \u201cMay the LORD answer you\u201d (verse 2), in the center \u201c will answer him from His heavenly sanctuary\u201d (7), and at the end\u00a0 \u201cMay the King answer us when we call\u201d (last verse). The message is clear.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Unconventional weapons<\/em>. \u201cThey [call] on chariots, they [call] on horses\u201d – i.e., they have armored divisions and artillery, but we \u201ccall on the name of the LORD our God,\u201d and
