Henry Leck, &#8220;Psalm 8&#8221;, Jul 26, 2013).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The American composer Dan Forrest (b. 1978) writes very melodiously, and has been gifted with the talent to write music that captures the spirit of large audiences. His oeuvre is filled with choral compositions, and others, and Psalm 8 is among the most popular.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The music creates a simple yet noble picture of the feelings of awe and majesty before God, based on the opening verses of the psalm. Even those who understand Hebrew might have trouble making out the words, and their connection to the music, so the experience is based completely on the tones, and the huge space in which they are played.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are those who will claim that \u201cthis isn\u2019t how people compose these days\u201d and that the work is derivative of the style of the great classicists.
