This psalm matches perfectly with the previous psalm, psalm 4. While psalm 4 dealt with the calm mind before bedtime, this psalm opens with the morning when one awakes. In verse 4, David cries out:\u00a0 “God, at dawn hear my voice, at dawn when I prepare my prayer for you and I wait for you.” Just as the “Hebrew day” begins at night and continues to the day, these two psalms mimic this timeline. <\/span>As we discussed yesterday<\/span><\/a>, night time is the time for personal reflection and introspection before bed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Daytime, as we see in today’s chapter, is time to pray to God. Starting the day out properly begins with collecting one’s thoughts and asking God to set a proper day and to remove the enemies of the supplicant and protect him\/her from troubles that may
