  1. When he fled from his son, Absalom<\/em>. The title of the psalm connects it to the days of the rebellion of Absalom. Try and read the psalm in light of the picture of David leaving Jerusalem, without knowing if he will ever return, and at what price. \u201cDavid meanwhile went up the slope of the [Mount of] Olives, weeping as he went; his head was covered and he walked barefoot\u201d (2 Sam 15:30).<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Psalms from life<\/em>. 73 psalms out of 130 are dedicated <\/span>le-David<\/span><\/i> \u201cof David.\u201d Of these, 13 are connected in the heading of the psalm to an event in David\u2019s life, and invite the reader to discover the historical and literary context and allusions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Panic attack<\/em>. When one is beset by fear, everything looks huge and insoluble: \u201cO LORD, my foes are so many! Many are those who attack me; many say of me, \u201cThere is no deliverance for him through God\u201d (2-3). When there is a feeling of security: \u201cI have no fear of the myriad forces arrayed against me on every side\u201d (verse 7).<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. There isn\u2019t any – then there is<\/em>. The cry of despair \u201c\u201cThere is no deliverance for him through God\u201d (3) is replaced in the psalm with an affirmation of faith: \u201cDeliverance is the LORD\u2019s\u201d (9). What caused the change? Did the deliverance and the salvation already occur? Have the enemies been defeated? Perhaps not, because there is still the need to pray \u201cRise, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God!\u201d (8). Perhaps the entire drama occurs in the soul of the psalmist, and it is the experience of prayer, accompanied by a feeling that there is someone who is listening, aleves the anxiety and grants a feeling of security.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","image":{"ID":53645,"id":53645,"title":"general-qs-points to
