  1. Shepherd and sheep<\/em>. Seeking comfort and knowledge of the future from wizardry represents a loss of direction: \u201cThat is why My people have strayed like a flock, They suffer for lack of a shepherd\u201d (verse 2). But the problem does not only lie with the straying flock, but the shepherds too are deficient, and so \u201cMy anger is roused against the shepherds.\u201d There is a solution – God will shepherd the flock himself (verse 3).<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Alcoholic images<\/em>. \u201cAnd they shall exult as with wine\u201d (verse 7). This connects with the beverages mentioned in the previous chapter \u201cThey shall drink, shall rage as with wine,\u201d and also \u201cProducing young men like new grain, Young women like new wine!\u201d (Zech 9:15, 17).<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The sweet memories of Exile<\/em>. The Exile doesn\u2019t sound so bad when you read verse 9: \u201cFor though I sowed them among the nations, In the distant places they shall remember Me, They shall escape with their children and shall return.\u201d It\u2019s not the prison and \u201cthe pit with no water in it\u201d of the previous chapter. It\u2019s more of a fertile ground, and flourishing society which has not forgotten.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","image":{"ID":53645,"id":53645,"title":"general-qs-points to
