  1. The law is the law<\/em>. A few chapters ago we read that the Eastern GAte of the outer court is always closed, and that no one enters through it. It turns out that the law obligates the prophet – even in his prophetic vision. Ezekiel is in the courtyard and doesn\u2019t exit that way, but goes the long way around and reaches the east via the northern side: \u201cThen he led me out by way of the northern gate and led me around to the outside of the outer gate that faces in the direction of the east;\u201d (verse 2).<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The Garden of Eden, the garden of God<\/em>. 480 chapters ago (Genesis 19) Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of their egregious evil ways, and the region of Sodom and the Dead Sea went from being the garden of God to the Sea of Death, and scorched and salty earth. The spring which wells up out of the House of God brings miraculous life giving waters, and it becomes a real \u201clost paradise\u201d (Gen 3:9). Quite a \u201c<\/span>tikkun<\/span><\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Farewell, history<\/em>. Reallocating the Land into new portions cancels the previous, historical divisions of east and west, and the Northern Kingdom (Israel) and the Southern one (Judah).   4. Social reforms: legal aliens<\/em>. The gerim <\/i>in the Tanach are non-Israelites who live among the tribes of Israel for many years. Since they have no real estate, no \u201cportion in the land,\u201d they are usually among the poorer elements of society. You\u2019ll find them in all forms of social legislation. Ezekiel declares that they shall receive an allotment, thus securing their status (see verses 21-23). Earlier, he did the same for the Levites (see chapter 45).
