  1. The breakdown, and the repair<\/em>. 22 chapters ago, when the Presence of the LORD left the Temple, Ezekiel witnessed the breakdown involving idolatry in the Temple, and the social iniquities in the city. Now that the Presence has returned, there is a different explanation for the breakdown and the repair: the proximity of the Temple with the political authority, and the blurring of the boundaries between the two led to the desecration of the Temple. But is this a different problem, or just a deeper analysis of the same issue? Can the separation of holy and profane lead to a solution of social issues as well? It\u2019s worth investigating.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. A structural solution<\/em>. The new architectural plan for Jerusalem separates between the palace and the Temple. Sometimes, for real change to happen, education isn\u2019t enough. Structural change is needed.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The Eastern gate<\/em>. It was through the Eastern gate that the \u201cpresence of the LORD\u201d left in chapter 11. Through it, the Presence will return, according to verse 4 here. And perhaps all those years it was just waiting on the mountain opposite – the Mount of Olives (according to 11:23).<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Measurements and materials<\/em>. There is a huge gap between the minute details about the measurements and the structure, and the materials from which the Temple is made, which is especially striking with regard to the altar. There isn\u2019t a word about materials. What is it made of? Why is this not discussed? Good question…<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. This is the Torah\/instruction of the LORD<\/em>. This is the formula that opens the priestly code in the book of Leviticus. And this is the formula used in verse 12 that concludes the detailed information that was communicated to Ezekiel, in these chapters about the Temple.
