The description of the greatness of Tyre as an international trading power, gives us a peek into the reality of the regional economy, and raises the academic question, of what period is this a description of? When was Tyre at the peak of its independence and success? Some researchers think that this description was taken from a period previous to Ezekiel, by decades, or even hundreds of years. For instance, in verse 17 we find Judah and Israel as two separate entities, which could support that supposition that the period in question is during the reign of King Ahab, more or less.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Optics<\/em>. The prophecy is in words. But it\u2019s worth listening, and trying to visualize an image of Tyre as a beautiful ship, laden with choice merchandise. As beautiful as possible. And then &#8211; it sinks. Try it. Apparently, that is what the prophet wanted his audience to do. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","image":{"ID":86314,"id":86314,"title":"Points to
