And its name has been called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">high place<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to this day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Hebrew exhibits a derisive false etymology: \u201chigh place\u201d is <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bamah<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; \u201cwhat\u201d is <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mah<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; the first syllable of \u201ccome\u201d is <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ba<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. (James Moffatt, with some ingenuity and a little strain, conveys this in English as: \u201cWhat is this high place you hie to?)
