  1. Was there what to weigh? <\/em>Ezekiel is asked to weigh out his hair, and then divide it into three equal parts, in order to exemplify the fate of the people. This was not such an easy task for the primitive scales of those days. Or – that Ezekiel\u2019s hair after a year-long siege was especially long and heavy.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The menu of dread<\/em>. In the previous chapter, Ezekiel deployed siege bread and bread of impurity. But the reality of hunger that is promised in the prophecy, will be worse and more terrible than any symbolic act. See verse 10.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The curses that are behind it all<\/em>. The curses for those who disobey the covenant are the context for the prophecy. Both the hard curses at the Sinai Covenant of Leviticus 26, and also those of the covenant on the Plains of Moab, of Deut. 28. This is how you say in \u201cBiblese\u201d – \u201cI told you so!\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","image":{"ID":86314,"id":86314,"title":"Points to
