The Chariot<\/span>
\n<\/span>Emerges<\/span>
\n<\/span>From out of the storm wind, the opaque cloud,<\/span>
\n<\/span>The fire, the glow.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And in the glow \u2014 a semblance<\/span>
\n<\/span>Of faces; eyes; hands; outstretched wings<\/span>
\n<\/span>The color of burnished brass;<\/span>
\n<\/span>The profile of a lion, an ox, an eagle through the mist;<\/span>
\n<\/span>Burning coals and torches.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chariot<\/span>
\n<\/span>Draws closer \u2014 wheels<\/span>
\n<\/span>And wheels within wheels<\/span>
\n<\/span>The color of topaz and polished copper.<\/span><\/p>\n

The opening of heaven.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chariot \u2014 now the reflection of a firmament,<\/span>
\n<\/span>Of thick ice;<\/span>
\n<\/span>The sound of flapping wings \u2014 now the noise<\/span>
\n<\/span>Of many waters, the tumult of an armed camp.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chariot \u2014 now a Throne<\/span>
\n<\/span>Of sapphire glistening<\/span>
\n<\/span>With the spectrum of a rainbow, shimmering.<\/span><\/p>\n

And out of the glow: One speaking-silence.<\/span>
\n<\/span>And out of the tumult: One still small voice.<\/span>
\n<\/span>And out of the cloud: One thread of light.<\/span>
\n<\/span>And out of the vision: One grace.<\/span><\/p>\n

Behind the wheel of polished copper \u2014 One;<\/span>
\n<\/span>Above the Chariot \u2014 One;<\/span>
\n<\/span>Beyond the Throne \u2014 One.<\/span><\/p>\n

One is not many; One is not two or three or ten;<\/span>
\n<\/span>One is not none.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Before the before and after the After:<\/span>
\n<\/span>One.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Only One.<\/span><\/p>\n
