  1. The mountains are flowing (or quaking)<\/em>. That is how God\u2019s revelation looked in the past (verse 2). That\u2019s also how Deborah the prophetess described it in her song of 182 chapters ago \u201cThe mountains quaked\u2014 Before the LORD, Him of Sinai, Before the LORD, God of Israel\u201d (Judges 5:5).<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Filthy rags and withering leaves<\/em>. That is the magnitude of the wretchedness of those who are far from God. See verse 5.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Lamentations<\/em>. The last verses of the chapter (8-11) are reminiscent of Eicha, the Book of Lamentations, bemoaning the destruction of the temple and of Judah.
