Similar formulations in Deuteronomy and elsewhere clearly indicate the spirit of God that will continue to invest the covenanted people for all time, and there is no warrant for the use of \u201cseed\u201d in the sense of \u201cdisciple\u201d rather than as a term for biological offspring. \u201cSeed\u201d in precisely this sense repeatedly figures in the covenantal promises to Abraham.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From: Robert Alter, <em>The Hebrew Bible<\/em>, vol. 2: Prophets, W.
