  1. At least he\u2019s consistent<\/em>. 30 years, and 23 chapters ago (Is. 7), during the reign of King Ahaz, Isaiah proposed the same political stance: trust God, and don\u2019t play politics. Faith is the true bravery, since God is the only ally in the whole region who can be relied upon. Hezekiah, like Ahaz before him, did not adopt this approach.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. What a waste of money<\/em>. Besides the fact that the strength of the Egyptians can\u2019t be relied upon, there was a huge financial outlay involved, with a high degree of unnecessary risk. Verse 6 describes the dangers that the delegation to Egypt is exposed to, which conveys \u201ctheir wealth on the backs of asses, Their treasures on camels\u2019 humps, To a people of no avail.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Pride strikes again<\/em>. This time it is Egypt that is afflicted with pride (verse 7). This pride creates an illusion of might, but in fact \u201cThey are a threat that has ceased,\u201d and will not come through in time of need.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Pride and its remedy<\/em>. Remember the high mountains, the lofty peaks and the towers that in chapter 2 symbolized human pride? Check out verse 25 \u201ca day of heavy slaughter, when towers topple.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Signed, sealed, delivered<\/em>. When God feels that the prophet has no one to speak to, he commands him to write everything down on a tablet, for posterity. The truth will out (verse 8).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","image":{"ID":86314,"id":86314,"title":"Points to
