  1. The Sweet Singer of Israel<\/em>. That\u2019s David, and the epithet is from the classic translations of verse 1 of this chapter.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Multi-national heroes<\/em>. Among David\u2019s valiant warriors we also find names from other nationalities, such as Igal son of Nathan from Zobah, Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothit, and even one who is familiar: Uriah the Hittite (verses 36-39).<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Back in the day<\/em>. At least some of the warriors listed here go back to David\u2019s first days – in the Adulam cave (I Sam. 22), who fought the early battles against the Philistines, and of course Asa\u2019el, who was
