Am I asleep?\u00a0 My heart\u2019s awake; I hear<\/span>
\n<\/span>Him knocking on my door, \u201c<\/span>I\u2019ve come, my love<\/span>,<\/span>
\n<\/span>Unlatch the lock and open the door, my dove<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/em>
\n<\/span>I hear his voice; or do I dream?\u00a0 I dare<\/span>
\n<\/span>Not open, I have undressed, and lie here bare;<\/span>
\n<\/span>I\u2019ve washed my hands and feet, and wear no glove,<\/span>
\n<\/span>No shoe; yet look \u2014 I see his hand above<\/span>
\n<\/span>The lock, and his shadow hiding in the air.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leaping from hills of myrrh and frankincense,<\/span>
\n<\/span>My husband comes to drink his wine of choice<\/span>
\n<\/span>And rest in beds of spices, among the throngs<\/span>
\n<\/span>Of herbs and lilies of the valley, whose scents<\/span>
\n<\/span>Awaken me tonight.\u00a0 I hear his voice<\/span>
\n<\/span>Chanting my name, as he sings a song of songs.<\/span><\/p>\n
