If only I could refuse this reward<\/span>
\n<\/span>for slaying a Philistine brute,<\/span>
\n<\/span>hairy-headed as the lion I killed,<\/span>
\n<\/span>less majestic than the bear. <\/span><\/p>\n

With no more choice than water in the stream,<\/span>
\n<\/span>I must now stay in the palace,<\/span>
\n<\/span>marry a girl I do not love, have never seen,<\/span>
\n<\/span>but who can refuse the king? <\/span><\/p>\n

I need neither award nor acclaim,<\/span>
\n<\/span>but wish to return with my flute and harp<\/span>
\n<\/span>to tend my father\u2019s sheep.<\/span><\/p>\n
